This limited edition print of “The Wild Goose Chase” is from an original oil by Washington, D.C., artist Brenda Gordon. “The Wild Goose Chase” was run at the 1998 Grand National Steeplechase in Butler, Maryland.
This centennial year celebration race featured riders who previously rode in the Grand National Steeplechase race but were no longer actively riding as jockeys. The riders are from left to right Eugene Weymouth, Warrington Gillet, Charles C. Fenwick, Jr., Thomas Voss, H. Turney McKnight, Douglas Worrall, Jack S. Griswold (partially obscured), Russell Jones, F. Bruce Miller and Patrick Smithwick. Not pictured are Irvin Naylor (winner of the race), C. J. Meister and Kingdon Gould.
